A man has appeared in court charged with assaulting a woman in Donegal Town during the early hours of Sunday morning.
Adam Duddy, aged 22, appeared at Donegal District Court charged with assault causing harm to the young woman at Tirconnel Street on April 7, 2024.
The charge is Contrary to Section 3 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Persons Act of 1997.
The accused, of Springhill, Dunkineely, was represented by solicitor Mr Patsy Gallagher.
Gardai objected to bail in the case.
However, having listened to the bail application, Judge Ciaran Liddy granted bail on a number of conditions.
They include that the accused stay out of Donegal Town, sign on twice a week at Ballyshannon Garda Station, stay away from any witnesses in the case and be of good behaviour.
Duddy was released on his own bond of €500 and an independent surety of €3,000.
The case was adjourned to July 3, 2024 for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
