A Castlefin woman has been charged with careless driving causing serious harm to another woman.
Geraldine Havlin appeared before Falcarragh District Court this week.
The 58-year-old, of Dungorman, Castlefin, has been charged in connection with a road traffic collision at Fanmore, Falcarragh on July 13, 2023.
Garda Liam O'Riordan gave evidence of the arrest, charge and caution of Havlin at 11.32am on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
Inspector Seamus McGonigle told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has directed that the matter be dealt with by way of summary disposal in the District Court only if a guilty plea is tendered.
Solicitor for Havlin, Ms Catherine Bonner, asked for disclosure and said a position would be indicated on behalf of her client at the next court date.
Havlin is charged that she did drive a vehicle without due care and attention thereby causing serious bodily harm to another person. The charge is contrary to section 52 (1) and 52 (2) (a) of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (as substituted by section 4 of the Road Traffic (No 2) Act 2011).
Havlin faces a separate charge of dangerous driving in relation to the same incident.
Judge Éiteáin Cunningham remanded Havlin on bail to appear again before the court on July 17, 2024.
