A bench warrant has been issued after a man facing charges including theft of alcohol from a Donegal Town shop failed to attend court.
John Paul O’Reilly, 39, of Halting Site, Ballintra was due to appear at Donegal District Court on Wednesday.
He is charged with theft of two Grey Goose Vodka selection boxes to the value of €60, the property of Jamie Timoney of Timoney Newsagents. The offence is alleged to have occurred at Timoney’s Newsagents, Bridge Street, Donegal Town on September 7, 2023.
A previous court sitting heard that the defendant made no reply when charged.
O’Reilly is further charged on the same date and location with theft of Carpaccio beer cans to the value of €14, property of Jamie Timoney of Timoney Newsagents
A previous court heard that when charged with this offence, O’Reilly replied: “I paid for them.”
The defendant is also facing charges of threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour and intoxication to the extent of being a danger to himself or others at Bridge Street, Donegal Town on November 30, 2023.
And he faces the same pair of public order charges for alleged offences at Summerhill, Donegal Town on December 19, 2023.
