A young woman has been charged with assaulting a young man in Letterkenny.

Jodie Quill appeared at Letterkenny Circuit Court where she pleaded guilty to assault.

Ms Quill, aged 25, is charged that on September 29, 2022 at Burnside Apartments, Lower Main Street, Letterkenny, did assault Sloan Murphy.

The charge is Contrary to Section 2 of the Non Fatal Offences Against the Persons Act 1997.

Ms Quill, of Carraig Craobh, Crievesmith, Letterkenny, spoke only to affirm her guilty plea.

The accused woman's barrister, Mr Simon Gillespie, BL, said his client is on bail and asked the court for that to continue.

He also asked for the consideration of a Probation and Welfare Report.

Judge John Aylmer granted the order and directed that the probation report should include assessment for community service.

He adjourned the case until the October sessions of the court for final sentencing.
