Letterkenny man appears in court over alleged incidents at house in Ballymacool

The 20-year-old man is charged that he entered a building at Ballymacool, Letterkenny with the intention to commit an offence and also with an incident of criminal damage to a kitchen window

A Letterkenny man has appeared in court in connection with alleged offences in the town last week.

David Orr was brought before Letterkenny District Court on Thursday.

Orr, a 20-year-old of Glenard Park, Long Lane, Letterkenny, was granted bail subject to conditions.

Orr is charged that on October 4, 2024 he entered a building at Ballymacool, Letterkenny with the intention to commit an offence,

The charge is contrary to Section 11 of the Criminal Justice (Public Order) Act, 1994.

Orr is also charged that on a date unknown between October 3, 2024 and October 4, 2024 that he caused criminal damage to a kitchen window of a property at Ballymacool, Letterkenny. That charge is contrary to Section 2 of the Criminal Damage Act, 1991.

Detective Garda Bobby Carey gave evidence of the arrest, charge and caution of Orr.

Detective Garda Carey told the court that Orr made no reply when charged at 12.19pm on October 10, 2024.

Garda Sergeant Maurice Doyle said there was consent to bail, but gardai sought conditions to be attached.

Orr, who was represented by solicitor Mr Frank Murphy, was granted bail in his own bond of €100.

Legal aid was granted to Mr Murphy and Orr was remanded to appear again before Letterkenny District Court on November 4.
