Gardaí and the Fire Service responded to a call in relation to a Ford Transit van that was on fire

A van was set alight in Lifford, with An Garda Siochana of the opinion the blaze was started “maliciously”.

The incident of criminal damage took place in the area of Glenfad, Porthall, Lifford on Saturday, October 26, between 11pm and 11.15pm.

Gardaí and the Fire Service responded to a call in relation to a Ford Transit van that was on fire in a yard at that location. It is believed that the fire may have been started maliciously. 

“We appeal to anybody who may have observed suspicious activity or vehicles in that area between those times to make contact with Gardaí,” Garda Sean Sweeney said. “As always, we appeal to anyone who may have travelled in that area with a dash-cam to make the footage available to us. Gardaí may be contacted in Letterkenny on 074-9167100 in relation to this incident.”
