White van sought in probe over stolen digger buckets and rock breaker in Letterkenny

Two digger buckets were stolen in the incident

Gardai are seeking a white Ford Transit van after two digger buckets and a rock breaker were stolen from a business in Letterkenny at the weekend.

Gardai are investigating the incident at Drumnahoe, Letterkenny on Saturday night, November 9, between 9-9.20pm.

Two digger buckets for a Kubota digger and a JAB rock breaker were stolen from the premises.

Gardai say that they are “particularly interested” in any sightings of a white Ford Transit van or any dash-cam footage of the same vehicle.

“The van in question is believed to have stalled on the Port Road as they would appear to have missed the entrance to the premises in question,” Sergeant Eunan Walsh said.

“It was then reversed back a little before entering the premises. This bit of detail may jog the memory of other drivers as it is unusual behaviour on such a busy road.”

Garda are seeking footage from anybody who may have travelled on the inward or outward lanes of the Port Road between the Dry Arch roundabout and the Polestar roundabout between 8.30pm and 9.30pm.

The business premises in question is located on the outbound lane not far from the Dry Arch roundabout.

Sergeant Walsh said: “If anybody can recall seeing the van in question or if they have dash-cam footage from the area, we ask them to please contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100.

“Should anybody come across similar items for sale on a second hand basis, we ask them to alert Gardaí immediately.

“The Garda Confidential line may be contacted on 1800 666 111.”
