Two men in their 20s were arrested following a significant drugs bust in Inishowen.
Suspected cannabis with a value of €40,000 was seized after gardai raided two residences.
Detectives from the Donegal Divisional Drugs Unit were aided by the Customs Dog Unit and uniformed gardai from the Buncrana District as they swooped on the houses.
Armed with search warrants, officers located the cannabis cache along with drugs paraphernalia.
The drugs will now undergo analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.
The two arrested men are currently detained pursuant to Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Garda stations in the Co. Donegal area.
They are expected to appear before a special sitting of Donegal Town District Court tomorrow, Friday, November 29.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are appealing for anyone who has information in relation to the sale and supply of controlled substances in Co. Donegal or the border region, to contact the Donegal Divisional Drugs Unit on 074 916 7100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.”
The searches were carried out as part of Operation Tara, an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy commenced in July, 2021.
The focus of Operation Tara is to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels, international, national, and local, involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production and local sale and supply of controlled drugs.
