Gardai hunt man in balaclava who damaged car in Letterkenny attack

Substantial damage was caused to a parked car by a man in a balaclava in an unsavoury incident in Letterkenny last month.

A man approached a car, which was parked in the area of Orchard Crescent, between 10.20am and 10.25am on December 19.

The man, who was dressed all in black and wore a balaclava, approached the car and poured an unknown substance all over it causing substantial damage.

The assailant made his way from Orchard Crescent on foot in the direction of Ard O’Donnell following the incident.

A Garda spokesperson said: “We appeal to anybody who travelled in the areas of Orchard Crescent, the High Road or Ard O’Donnell on that date with a dash cam between 10am and 11am to make the footage available to Gardaí.

“We are confident that someone will have observed this man due to his unusual attire and the fact that he was on foot in broad daylight in such a busy area.

“If anybody can assist with dash cam footage or relevant information, we ask them to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074-9167100 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.”
