Luke Neely at Letterkenny Circuit Court. (North West Newspix)
A Dungloe man will be sentenced later this year for causing serious harm to another man at a pub in the west Donegal town.
Luke Neely pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared before Letterkenny Circuit Court.
Neely, a 30-year-old of Crocknageeragh, Dungloe was charged with intentionally or recklessly causing harm to Ben Boyle at Midway Bar, Main Street, Dungloe on June 27, 2021.
The charge is contrary to section 4 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997.
Neely spoke only to plead guilty to the charge when he was arraigned before Judge John Aylmer.
Mr Damien Crawford BL, barrister for Neely, asked that a probation report be prepared.
Judge Aylmer sought a probation report, to include a community service assessment, and adjourned the case until the July sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court.
