Judge at Letterkenny District Court warns woman she is 'running out of options'

A 58-year-old woman appeared at Letterkenny District Court charged with stealing €52.80 worth of toys and groceries from the Central Corner Shop in Ballybofey on October 8, 2024

A judge has warned a woman that she is "running out of options" after she appeared in court again for shoplifting.

Maria Sava appeared at Letterkenny District Court charged with stealing €52.80 worth of toys and groceries from the Central Corner Shop in Ballybofey on October 8, 2024. The court heard she has a number of previous convictions for similar offences.

The court was told that Sava, aged 58, of The Green in Convoy, entered the store on the day in question. She then proceeded to put all the items in a bag and simply walked out without paying for the goods.

Judge Ciaran Liddy fined the accused woman €250 and gave her six months to pay but warned her that she is "running out of options."
