Driver of blue Kia sought after hit-and-run collision near Glenveagh

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to receive medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries and gardai are seeking information about a blue Kia, which did not remain at the scene

Gardaí are investigating two separate hit-and-run incidents in Donegal

A motorist received hospital treatment following a road traffic collision close to Glenveagh National Park on Monday.

One of the drivers in the two-vehicle collision did not remain at the scene.

Gardai are now seeking the driver of a blue Kia, with a possible partial registration of ‘202’. 

The collision occurred shortly after 5pm on Monday, March 10, on the R251 at Derrylahan, between Glenveagh National Park and the junction for the Falcarragh road. 

The driver of the blue Kia was said to have travelled onwards in the direction of Dunlewey. 

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to receive medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries. 

A Garda spokesperson said: “We appeal to anyone who may have been in that area with a dash-cam, to make the footage available to Gardaí. If anybody witnessed the collision or if they observed the blue Kia in question, we ask them to contact Gardaí in Milford on 074-9153060.”

Separately, officers in Milford are investigating another collision which occurred at Chapel View, Kilmacrennan on Monday, February 17.

Between 8.30pm and 9pm, a parked jeep in that area was struck by another vehicle and damage was caused as a result. The driver left the area following the collision and no details were obtained. 

A Garda spokesperson said: “We appeal to anybody who may have witnessed the collision to make contact with Gardaí in Milford on 074-9153060. As always, we are appealing for dash cam footage from the area also.”
