Gardai are conducting an investigation into a large-scale medication scam in Donegal.
Last weekend, a man was arrested following a major raid at a premises in Letterkenny.
Garda detectives, accompanied by officials from the Health Product Regulatory Authority (HPRA) swooped on a private dwelling.
The operation was part of an operation targeting the sale and supply of prescription tablets. The campaign is aimed at cracking down on the illegal sale and supply of prescribed medication.
A total of 25,000 tablets, with an estimated street value of €50,000, were seized in the raid.
In a follow-up search of the same premises, gardai also recovered a quantity of cannabis.
A man in his 20s was charged in relation to the cannabis find. He was detained at Letterkenny Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. The man was granted station bail and is due to appear before a future sitting of Letterkenny District Court.

Investigations into the illegal sale and supply of prescribed medication remain “ongoing” according to the gardai.
