Brothers plead guilty to Donegal Town assaults

Tirynn Mullan and Brannon Mullan at Donegal Circuit Court

Two brothers have been charged for seriously assaulting two men, including a Garda, in Donegal Town.

Tirynn Mullan and Brannon Mullan appeared before Donegal Circuit Court where they pleaded guilty to offences.

The two men, who are 26 and 25 and each of Drum Road, Omagh, tendered guilty pleas when they were arraigned before Judge John Aylmer.

Tirynn Mullan pleaded guilty to assaulting Michael McHugh and causing him harm at the same location on the same date.

Brannon Mullan was charged with assaulting Garda Mark Sweeney and causing him harm at The Diamond, Donegal Town on September 2, 2023.

Both men spoke only to plead guilty. 

Tirynn Mullan was represented by Mr Ciaran O’Rourke BL.

Mr Colm Smyth SC, for Brannon Mullan, said a probation report was not required.

There was no objection to continuing bail and the matter was adjourned until the next session of Donegal Circuit Court.
