A man caught driving at 140km/h on a busy Donegal road has been fined in court.

Oisin McCourt was driving on the N13 at Drumbarnet Middle, Manorcunningham on February 20, 2024.

At Letterkenny District Court, Garda Shaun Tully gave evidence of detecting McCourt travelling at 140km/h on the road governed by a 100km/h speed limit.

McCourt, a 20-year-old of St Bracken’s Park in Derry, was represented by Mr Patsy Gallagher.

While McCourt was not present when his case was heard, Mr Gallagher indicated that his client was in the courthouse earlier in the day, but had to leave.

McCourt was tendering a guilty plea to the charge, Mr Gallagher said.

Judge Éiteáin Cunningham convicted McCourt and fined him €320, allowing five months to pay.
