The theft of the motors and ignition starters took place at a number of properties at Earlsfort on the outskirts of the town between around 3:30am and 4:30am on Sunday

Anyone who may have observed suspicious activity, vehicles or people in the area in the early hours of Sunday morning is asked to contact Buncrana garda station

Oil burner motors have been stolen from homes in Buncrana at the weekend.

The theft of the motors and ignition starters took place at a number of properties at Earlsfort on the outskirts of the town between around 3:30am and 4:30am on Sunday, May 25.

Gardaí are appealing for dashcam footage from the area between 3am and 5am on Sunday.

They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have observed a man in the area on foot who was of slim build and wearing a hat.

Anyone who may have observed suspicious activity, vehicles or people in the area in the early hours of Sunday morning is asked to contact gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540. Members of the public who come across such items for sale on a second-hand basis are also asked to contact gardaí.
