A man has appeared in court following an incident at a house in Convoy in the early hours of Friday.

Dean Kelly was brought before a special sitting of Dungloe District Court.

The 29-year-old of Glenwood Park in Letterkenny, who has been charged with two offences arising out of the incident at around 5.45am on May 30, appeared before Judge Brendan O’Reilly. 

Kelly has been charged with assaulting a female in the property, an offence contrary to section 2 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997.

He has also been charged with causing criminal damage to a kitchen table. The charge is contrary to section 2 of the Criminal Damage Act, 1991

Garda Sergeant Vincent Muldoon outlined to the court that bail conditions had been agreed.

Kelly, who is represented by solicitor Mr Patsy Gallagher, was granted bail to appear again before a future sitting of Letterkenny District Court.
