A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions following an incident on Saturday morning in Dungloe.
A man was arrested and another man hospitalised after the incident, which occurred at around 1.30am on Saturday at Lower Main Street, Dungloe.
Gardai received a report of a public order incident and attended the scene.
A male in his 20s is reported to have been assaulted. The injured man was conveyed to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Another male in his 20s was later arrested nearby under the Public Order Act in relation to the investigation.
He was later released without charge and a Garda spokesperson has confirmed that a file will be prepared for the DPP.
