Donegal Gardai have seized a car which was being driven dangerously while fitted with false plates.

Gardai in the Ballybofey and Convoy areas received what have been described as “multiple reports” of a car being driven in a dangerous manner in recent days.

Officers located the car in question on Tuesday and seized it and confirmed that false plates were fitted.

“The owner will now have to apply to the Judge of the District Court to get it back,” a Garda spokesperson said.

Gardai hailed the members of the public who reported the incidents of dangerous driving.

They said:  “The information they provided helped us to remove the car from the roads.

“The community is a safer place when we work together.
