Gardaí are investigating the incident in Letterkenny
Gardaí have issued an alert to business owners after the attempted theft of a company van outside a business premises in Letterkenny.
The incident occurred in the area of Canal Road, Letterkenny on Tuesday, January 13, shortly before 8:10am.
A business owner was alerted by a delivery driver to the fact that a man appeared to be attempting to gain access to one of the company vans outside the premises.
The man in question fled upon being observed by the delivery driver. He was wearing a black puffer jacket, denim jeans and black trainers. He did not gain access to the van and no damage was caused.
“CCTV is being viewed and as part of the investigation we also appeal to anyone who may have travelled in that area with a dash-cam on Tuesday January 13 between 8am and 8:30am, to make the footage available to Gardaí,” said Garda Gráinne Doherty. “Gardaí in Letterkenny may be contacted on 074-9167100 with any relevant information.
