The drivers were observed racing each other on the Four Lane Road (N56) in Letterkenny
Two drivers will appear in court after being caught racing each other in Letterkenny.
The vehicles were observed racing “at high speeds” by the Buncrana Roads Policing Unit on the Four Lane Road (N56) in Letterkenny on Sunday, February 1.
Both vehicles were stopped and the drivers were arrested and charged to appear in court.
This follows an arrest that was made on that same stretch of road a number of days ago when a driver was detected travelling at 135KPH. Gardaí wish to remind the public that the speed limit between the Dry Arch roundabout and the Polestar roundabout is 60KPH.
The arrest was made as part of an enhanced Road Safety and Traffic Enforcement campaign carried out by gardaí over the St Brigid’s Bank Holiday weekend.
