Driver flees scene on foot after three-vehicle collision near Stranorlar

A driver fled the scene of a collision near Stranorlar after hitting two vehicles at a junction.

The collision occurred on Sunday, February 1 at Dunwiley, Stranorlar on the N13 shortly after 1.45pm. 

Gardaí say two vehicles were stationary on the road waiting for the vehicle in front to turn off onto a side road when they were struck from behind by a third vehicle. 

The driver of the third vehicle left the scene on foot. He is described as being tall and slim and in his 20s.

One passenger from one of the vehicles involved was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital to receive medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. 

Gardaí are appealing to motorists who may have been in the area with a dashcam between 1.40pm and 2pm to make the footage available to them. 

Anyone who witnessed the collision or is able to assist with any relevant information, is asked to contact gardaí in Ballyshannon on 071-9858530.
