House fire in Donegal  ‘may have been started deliberately’

A house fire in Donegal “may have been started deliberately”, according to An Garda Síochána. 

The incident of criminal damage occurred on Sunday, February 22, around 5:15am at a vacant house on the Malin Road, Moville

Gardaí and the fire services were alerted that a house fire was in progress. The fire was extinguished and nobody was hurt. The damage caused to the house was not significant.

“It is believed that the fire may have been started deliberately,” a garda spokesperson said. “We appeal to anyone who may have travelled in that area between 4.30am and 5.30am that morning with a dash-cam, to make the footage available to Gardaí. Any relevant information should be passed on to Gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540.”
