A Kildare man whose vehicle caused an obstruction leading a woman to be late for a hospital has been fined in court.

The woman contacted Gardaí in Milford on March 18, 2021.

On arrival at the scene, at The Square, Milford, Gardaí observed a white Honda CRV jeep.

Sergeant Gerard Dalton told Letterkenny District Court that the vehicle was sparked in front of an access way to an occupied house.

A woman told officers that she could not pass in the laneway as it was blocked. She was half-an-hour late for a hospital appointment, she said.

Various attempts were made to contact the owner of the vehicle, who returned a short time later.

Cornelius Cagney, 80, of Woodlands, Naas, was before Letterkenny District Court charged with parking in a manner that resulted in the vehicle obstructing an exit for vehicles from a premises.

The court heard that Cagney removed the vehicle when instructed. A fixed charge penalty notice was unpaid.

Judge Brendan O’Reilly convicted Cagney and fined him €260.
