A Cloghan man who caused injuries to a family when he crashed into them was under the influence of alcohol at the time.
John Furey, a 34-year-old from Ballinamore, Cloghan, appeared at Letterkenny District Court in connection with the crash.
Gardai were dispatched to a two-car collision at Cappry, Ballybofey at 2.22pm on January 16, 2022 and the occupants of one of the vehicles had sustained serious injuries.
Furey was driving a BMW 520 and crashed into an E Class Mercedes, which was driving in the other direction.
The male driver of the other car suffered a fractured ankle and foot. His wife, who was the front-seat passenger, had her two legs broken and also suffered a broken wrist.
Children, who were in the back seat, were uninjured.
Furey failed a roadside breath test and was arrested before being taken to Letterkenny Garda Station.
A blood test showed 109 milligrams of blood per 100 millilitres of alcohol. The legal limit is 50 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.
Sergeant Sean McDaid told the court that Furey admitted that he was drinking the previous night and had driven too fast into the corner.
Furey was charged with drink-driving, dangerous driving, failing to produce insurance and driving without insurance.
Judge Éiteáin Cunningham directed that Furey attend the Pro-Social Driving Course and make a €250 contribution.
The case was adjourned until February 2, 2023 for sentencing.
