Death notices for Donegal on Thursday evening

The following deaths have taken place:

Bert Ridewood, Ballindrait

The death has taken place peacefully in the Mater Hospital, Dublin, of Bert Ridewook, Cavan Hill, Ballindrait, Lifford, Donegal, 

Predeceased by his beloved wife Kathleen Anne Ridewood, he is sadly missed by his loving daughters Amanda, Karen and Michelle and partners, grandchildren Patrick, George, Eoin, Connell, Seamus, Dylan, Conor, Mia and Finn, brother Bill (Australia), extended family members many friends and neighbours.

Funeral arrangements to follow

Adrian Brogan, Roscommon and Donegal Town

The death has taken place of Adrian Brogan, Deerpark, Boyle, County Roscommon and formerly of O'Maolchonaire Avenue, Donegal Town. he passed away at home surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of Karen and adored father to their precious daughters, Caoimhe, Shona and Amy. Adrian is predeceased by his brother Raymond and father-in-law Cathal McGee. Adrian will be deeply missed by his parents Phyllis and Jimmy, sisters Rena (Vinnie), Denise (Shane) and Margaret (Brian), mother-in-law Mary McGee, brother-in-law Sean and sister-in-law Marie, cherished uncle to Kelsey, Chloe, Karla, Kelly, Lacey, Daniel and Aaron. Adrian will be sadly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, godchildren, extended Brogan, O'Dowd and McGee families, his colleagues in the Brothers of Charity, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

His remains are reposing at his home Deerpark, Boyle on Saturday from 3 pm to 8 pm.

Requiem Mass on Sunday at 2 pm in St Joseph's Parish Church, Boyle. Burial will follow immediately afterwards to Assylin Cemetery. The funeral Mass will be available to view on www.boyleparish.ie

Family flowers only, donations in lieu to the Irish Cancer Society. 

Ellen Gallagher, Carrigart and Dublin

The peaceful death has occurred at Letterkenny General Hospital of Ellen Gallagher, née Dennison, Church Road, Carrigart.

Predeceased by her husband Hugh in 1965; beloved Mother of Eunan, Linda, Mary and Terri; daughter-in-law Maeve and son-in-law Clive; devoted Grandmother of Aodh, Rachael, Lauren, Colin, Claire, Alex, and great-grandmother of Donnacha, Ellen, Cáolagh, Cillian, Willow and Bonnie. Ellen is sadly missed by her sisters May (Tennessee), Sorcha (Convoy), sisters-in-law Cathy (California), Josephine (Dublin) and her many nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Removal from the Chapel of Rest, Letterkenny on Thursday at 6pm to her daughter Terri's home (F92 P584) where you are welcome to pay your respects. Family time from 10pm till 12pm and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral from there on Saturday morning, September 13 going to St John the Baptist Church, Carrigart for requiem Mass at 11am with internment afterwards in Carrigart Cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to Friends of Letterkenny General Hospital.

Eugene Miller, Glenties, London and USA

The death has taken place of Eugene Miller, formerly of Drimnalough, Glenties, Co. Donegal, London and the USA. He passed away at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Letterkenny.

Dearly beloved husband of the late Patience Riley and father of Joshua, Sarah, Rachel and Nathaniel. Eugene will be sadly missed by his family, relatives and a very wide circle of friends in Donegal and around the world. Eugene is known for his academic achievements, musical talent, passion for theatre, good humour, kindness and generosity.

His remains will repose at Shovlin's Funeral Home, Sandfield, Ardara on Friday from 4pm to 7pm.

Funeral cortège departs Shovlin's on Saturday at 11.30am for Funeral Service at Church of Ireland, Lettermacaward at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Reception following funeral at Drimnalough, Glenties, F94 E2D7. For those who cannot attend the Service it will be recorded and can be viewed on Shovlin's Funeral Home Facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, donations please to Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland or Fintown Railway Co. Donegal.

Con Boyle, Dublin and Kilcar

The sudden death has taken place of Cornelius (Con) Boyle, Rush, County Dublin and late of Kilcar, County Donegal and formerly of C.I.E/ Dublin Bus.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Pauline, children Carolyne, Geraldine, Ollie and Diana, sons-in-law Alan, Stephen and Ciaran, grandchildren Callan, Dannon, Sennan, Sorren, Jade, Kyle, Blake, Davin, Tara and Clodagh, brothers Bernard and Michael, sister Margaret, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a wide circle of friends especially those in the Frosties and his draughts club.

House strictly private to family only please.

Funeral Mass on Friday at 10am in St Maur's Church, Rush followed by burial in Whitestown Cemetery, Rush.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to Irish Heart Foundation in Memory of Cornelius (Con) Boyle

Owen Byrne, Ardara

The untimely death has occurred of Owen Byrne, Portnoo Road, Ardara, F94R744. He passed away at Sligo University Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Sadly missed by his heartbroken family, his wife, Deirdre, daughter Lucy (Brian), son Colm (Aileen) and the five loves of his life, his little grandchildren; Sadie, Jude, Rían, Oisín and Shay, his siblings, nieces, nephews and his many, many friends and neighbours whom he adored. He is predeceased by his parents, Rosie and Hugh and sisters Roisin and Eileen.

Wake continues at Owen’s residence on Portnoo Road (F94R744) on Thursday from 12 noon to 10pm. House strictly private on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral from there at 11.40am going to The Church of the Holy Family, Ardara, for funeral Mass at 12 noon on Friday. Burial will take place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
