Though Donegal’s Edelle McDaid was the first to be banished, Donal Casey remains at Slane Castle

A Donegal connection remains on The Traitors Ireland, despite Glengad woman Edelle McDaid’s recent eviction.

Though from Leitrim, Donal Casey is the nephew of Croithlí distiller John Casey. The 24-year-old teacher has been selected as a Faithful on season two of the show.

The Crolly Distillery shared: “We’ll be watching closely and cheering him on all the way. Best of luck, Donal, from everyone here at Croithlí!”

Edelle became the first to be voted out after being banished on episode two. Having started the game as a Faithful, Edelle was selected as a secret fourth Traitor, but was banished before she ever got to meet them.

The Traitors is an intense psychological adventure in which treachery and deceit are the name of the game. A number of the contestants are chosen to be “The Traitors” and meet in secret to devise a plan to eliminate their fellow players called “The Faithful”. The Faithful must figure out who is a Traitor and vote them out so they can take the prize money for themselves. If a Traitor makes it to the end, they are in with a chance of taking home the cash prize.

Last year, Letterkenny woman Kelley Higgins won the show as a Faithful alongside two other contestants.

The Traitors Ireland season two continues Sunday, Monday and Tuesday on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.
