A recruitment open evening will take place at Letterkenny Fire Station this evening, Thursday November, at 6pm

Donegal County Fire Service is inviting people in the Letterkenny area to consider an exciting opportunity to become a part-time retained firefighter, with a recruitment open evening taking place at Letterkenny Fire Station this evening, Thursday November, at 6pm.

The open evening will give prospective applicants an opportunity to learn more about the role, meet members of the local fire service, see the station and equipment, and find out what is involved in becoming a retained firefighter.

Retained firefighters play a vital role in protecting local communities, responding to emergencies including fires, road traffic collisions and other incidents. While the role offers structured periods of time off and potential minimum annual earnings of €30,090, it also provides an opportunity to develop new skills, work as part of a close-knit team and make a real difference in the community.

No previous firefighting experience is required, as successful applicants receive the necessary training and support to undertake the role.

The service is particularly keen to hear from people who live and work in the Letterkenny area and can meet the availability requirements associated with responding to emergency calls.

Anyone interested is encouraged to call into Letterkenny Fire Station this evening at 6pm. There will be an opportunity to ask questions, take a tour of the station and learn more about the recruitment process. For further information, contact Donegal County Fire Service Headquarters on 074 9121676 or email [email protected].
