Snow stopping Frida
Calendars by the talented photographer, James O’Donnell, have been purchased by people across the world and this year he is delighted to find his work has made its way to Artic where artist Kim Sharkey is currently working.
The Falcarragh-based photographer decided to establish the calendar, which features his beautiful black tricolour border collie, in 2019, and has amassed huge popularity over the years.
The 2020 calendar was called Iggy's Donegal. It featured photographs predominantly from the Falcarragh area, with Gaoth Dobhair and Kilcar too. The 2021 calendar called Iggy's Donegal and Beyond included photos from Clare Island, Achill Island, Trohanny Cottage, Meath, and Iggy's mother, Ruby.
The third calendar, Out and About with Iggy, saw James and Iggy focus, once again, turn the spotlight on Donegal. One of the high points of 2022 was Iggy meeting Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh of Altan. The 2023 edition saw the introduction of 1-year-old Frida, a classic black and white collie, from Malinbeg.
This calendar has the most varied collection of photos, with locations in Snowdonia National Park, Wales, the Scottish Highlands, Dublin, Achill Island, Sligo, Cavan and of course, Donegal.
