Balloons up, computers packed: Two Donegal businesses on the move
Two established Buncrana businesses have moved to new locations, bringing fresh opportunities while remaining at the heart of the local community.
Buncrana’s retail landscape is undergoing a notable shake-up, with two familiar local businesses moving to new premises as they begin fresh chapters in their respective journeys.
After almost a decade trading on Lower Main Street, local entrepreneur Adam Rory Porter has officially closed the doors of his long-standing premises and relocated his growing collection of businesses to a new location on Upper Main Street.
In a message to customers, Adam Porter reflected on his time in the town centre, describing the move as both emotional and exciting.
“After nearly 10 years on the Lower Main Street in Buncrana, I'm sad to say that we closed the door for the final time on Saturday, May 30. Many great memories and great friends were made. Hopefully, there will be many more to come,” he said.
The new venture has brought several of his businesses together under one roof at 33 Upper Main Street, in the building formerly occupied by Duffy’s Chemist and the Inish Times. The premises now houses Porter Computers Buncrana, The Gift Shop and Gallery, Adam Rory Porter Photography, and Windy Day Media.
Porter said the move marks the beginning of “a new chapter” and thanked family and friends for helping make the transition possible.
Meanwhile, another familiar local retailer is also settling into a new home.
The Party Craft Shop, previously located beside Tommy’s Roadside Café, has relocated to 10 Rockytown Crescent. A notice to customers announced that the business had temporarily closed to facilitate the move before reopening at its new address on Friday, June 5.
The Party Craft Shop has become a popular destination for party planning essentials, offering helium balloons, foil balloons, banners, ribbons, cake boards, cake boxes, cupcake supplies, and a wide selection of cake decorating products.
Between balloons and banners, computers and cameras, two familiar Buncrana businesses have embarked on new adventures. Their addresses may have changed, but their place in the community remains very much the same.
