Donegal Town Rugby Football Club have paid tribute to the late Charlie McGinty, a founding member, former captain, and true stalwart of our club.
"It is with deep sadness that the committee and members of Donegal Town RFC mark the passing of Charlie McGinty," they posted.
"Charlie was much more than just a player - he was part of the very foundation of Donegal Town Rugby Club. His leadership, passion for the game, and tireless dedication helped shape the club in its earliest days and guided it through countless seasons on and off the field. Charlie’s love for rugby was matched only by his commitment to his teammates, friends, and community.
His namesake Charlie McGinty, Club President said the club owes so much to the foresight of Charlie and the other founding mebers who established the club over 50 years ago.
"We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the McGinty family and to all who knew and loved Charlie. His legacy will live on in the spirit of our club and in the memories of everyone who had the privilege to share the pitch or the clubhouse with him.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam."
