Killybegs is set to receive a second ambulance.
The HSE National Service Plan for 2026 will see additional ambulances located in the North-West Region. The ambulance that will be stationed in Killybegs will cover from Inver Bridge to Glencolmcille to Fintown.
Fine Gael Senator Manus Boyle has been highlighting the need for additional emergency services in south Donegal.

“After many years of pushing, raising concerns, and never letting this issue drop, I’m absolutely delighted to say that Killybegs is finally getting an additional ambulance,” Senator Boyle said. “It’s been a long road, but it has paid off and that makes this moment all the more meaningful.
“This is a huge step forward for our community and for patient safety, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who listened, supported the campaign, and helped make this happen.
“Thank you to the team for canvassing and supporting me in the past with this serious issue. Today is a good day for south Donegal. Very proud, very grateful, and very hopeful for what this will mean for people who need care when it matters most.”
