Councillor wants to further develop the tourism potential of Errigal Mountain

A Sinn Féin councillor would like to see facilities at the Errigal Mountain in Dunlewey developed and upgraded.

Councillor John Shéamuis Ó'Fearraigh believes that with better facilities and services the landmark will attract more tourists from across the globe to the Gaeltacht region.

He said that the parking area, which is used by many climbers and walkers, needs to be extended as many people park on either side of the road when the area is busy.

The Cnoc Fola based representative said that changing rooms and toilets should also be provided in the area.

He said that should these facilities be put in place and developed that it will increase the number of people who come to the area to climb the mountain and in turn increase the number of tourists to the area.
