Search resumes for missing man in Donegal

The search for a man missing from the Rathmullan area has entered its third day.

The Mulroy unit have been searching for Jim Boyle, 73, since early this morning. They will continue their search into this evening.

Gardaí are appealing for farmers and landowners to check their lands and fields for any sign of the man who went missing from the Rathmullan area around a month ago.

Jim Boyle, 73, was last seen three to four weeks ago near his home at Oughterlin, Rathmullan. An abandoned bicycle belonging to the man was found beside his home on Monday.

Oughterlin is an area which is approximately two and a half miles outside Rathmullan.

Jim Boyle, locally known as Philemy, is described as being 5’10 in height, of strong build, with black short hair and clean shaven.

When last seen he was wearing a grey woolen jumper, black worn suit trousers and black wellington boots.

Jim is originally from Scotland and moved to Ireland in the 70’s. He had no access to any vehicle other than a pedal bicycle which he used as a means of transport.

Anyone who has seen Jim or who can assist in locating him is asked to contact Milford Garda Station on 074 91 53060.
