NRA allocates over €11.5 million to County Donegal

Local authorities in Co Donegal were formally notified of their total funding allocation of €11,594,221 today from the NRA. This includes €2 million for the Mountcharles to Inver national secondary route, with over a further half a million set aside for the Dungloe to Glenties road. €300,000 is earmarked for the road from Letterkenny to Lifford.

Local authorities in Co Donegal were formally notified of their total funding allocation of €11,594,221 today from the NRA. This includes €2 million for the Mountcharles to Inver national secondary route, with over a further half a million set aside for the Dungloe to Glenties road. €300,000 is earmarked for the road from Letterkenny to Lifford.

The allocation also includes over €200,000 for safety upgrades of some junctions, the introduction of some traffic calming measures.

Jim Higgins MEP (North West) has welcomed the allocation of over €11.5 million to County Donegal by the National Roads Authority for 2013.

He commented: “This year’s NRA allocation has road safety at its core with funding awarded to local authorities in order to improve our road network.”
