Employ my players - McGuinness makes appeal to Donegal

Donegal manager Jim McGuinness has asked the people of Donegal to employ five members of his panel who are seeking work.

Speaking on Friday night in County House Lifford where he and his team were honoured by Mayor Frank McBrearty and his council colleagues, Jim said he was appealing to the people of the county to offer work to five members of his panel, Anthony Thompson, Leo McLoone, Paddy McGrath, Ryan Bradley and Eamonn McGee.

He said the players had put their lives on hold to play for Donegal. “I would ask anyone here, if it is at all possible to get these solid men some relaibale employment. They need security and it would benefit our team,” he said.

He also asked Donegal County Council to support in any way they can the development of the county’s centre of excellence facility in Convoy.

Cllr Frank McBrearty who hosted the civic reception for the manager, his backroom team and the entire panel, said the people of Donegal, at home and across the world, wer ehugely proud of the achievements of the team and their manager.

He said the back to back Ulster titles and the ultimate accolade, the All Ireland senior title, were a source of great pride and lifted everyone’s sense of pride.
