The Donegal Sports Star Committee have confirmed this morning that their Awards function is officially sold out.

There are no more tickets available for next Friday night’s banquet in the Mount Errigal Hotel. Following a meeting on Thursday evening, the Committee said they had reached capacity with over 500 tickets taken up for the 48th Awards where Donegal manager Jim McGuinness will be the special guest.

The double All-Ireland winner was announced earlier this month by the chairperson of the Donegal Sports Star award committee Grace Boyle.

She said: “ We are delighted to have Jim McGuinnness as our special guest on what is such a big night of celebration for Donegal sport.”

Part of the 1992 All-Ireland winning panel with Donegal as a player and manager of the team who won the county’s second All-Ireland in 2012, McGuinness follows in a long line of illustrious guests which include former Ireland international goalkeeper Shay Given, Jockey Ruby Walsh, World champion snooker player Ken Doherty and Irish Olympic gold medal winner Ronnie Delaney. The awards will take place on Friday night January 26.
