An Inishowen man has tendered a guilty plea to two historical sex offences.
The man pleaded guilty to two charges of indecent assault.
The man is now aged in his 50s and cannot be named in order to protect the identity of the victim in the case.
He appeared at Letterkenny Circuit Court on Tuesday, where he was formally arraigned before Judge John Aylmer.
The man spoke only to plead guilty to the charges.
He is charged that on a date unknown between September 1, 1982 and December 31, 1982, both dates inclusive, at a named address in Inishowen, that he did indecently assault a male by touching his penis, putting his penis into his mouth, penetrating his mouth with his penis and simulating sex.
The man pleaded guilty to a similar charge relating to a date unknown on an occasion other than the previous incident.
Ms Fiona Crawford BL, prosecutor for the State, told the court that there is a family connection between the accused man and his victim. Judge Aylmer said that there should be no publication of the accused’s name as there was potential for the victim to be identified.
Barrister for the accused, Mr Declan McHugh BL, asked for the preparation of a probation and welfare report for his client.
Judge Aylmer directed that a report be sought and adjourned the matter until the next sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court in January.
