A motorist who was clocked driving at 141km/h in Donegal has been fined.

Gardai detected Aaron McKeever driving a red Vauxhall Astra at Rossbracken on May 12, 2022.

Garda Peter McGee gave evidence in the matter at Letterkenny District Court. The 24-year-old McKeever, of Woodside Heights, Waterside, Derry, was caught travelling at 141km/h on a road governed by a speed limit of 100km/h.

The court heard that McKeever has no previous convictions.

McKeever was issued with a fixed charge penalty notice (FCPN), but this was unpaid.

Judge Éiteáin Cunningham described the speed as ‘significant’ and convicted McKeever, who was fined €400 and given five months to pay.
