The man was charged with stealing groceries from Lidl, Milford.
A man has appeared in court over the theft of €150 worth of groceries from Lidl in Milford.
Thomas Ward was before Letterkenny District Court in connection with the incident.
Ward pleaded guilty to stealing assorted groceries to the value of €150 from Lidl, Milford on March 3, 2023.
Sergeant Maurice Doyle told the court that a male entered the store and took groceries without paying. The property was not recovered to the shop, Sergeant Doyle said. Following his arrest, Sergeant Doyle said Ward was ‘fully cooperative’.
During a brief hearing, Ward spoke only to tender a guilty plea.
Ward’s solicitor, Mr Patsy Gallagher, asked for the matter to be adjourned in order to allow his client recompense Lidl for the €150 loss and also to clarify an issue over previous convictions.
Judge Éiteáin Cunningham said she was anxious to have clarity on previous convictions and adjourned the case until March 11, 2024
