South Donegal band Onóir.
South Donegal group Onóir, who shot to stardom in 2023, have released their first music video of 2024.
Onóir’s version of ‘Only Our Rivers Run Free’ went out on Monday evening.
The song is captured magnificently by Niall McKee’s videography and aided superbly by Damien McGeehan’s stunning string arrangement Tara Howley on the uilleann pipes and Mark Molloy’s bass lines.
Tom McHugh from Inver, Frosses native Declan Gaughan, Mountcharles’ Dean James and Diarmaid McGee from Ballintra form Onóir - a quartet that set pulses racing last year.
Their take of ’Only Our Rivers Run Free’ was filmed by the Eany River in the parish of Inver - and the backdrop fits wonderfully with what is sure to be their latest sensation.
During the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020, the four men joined together and made a video at Murvagh beach, recording a version of The Auld Triangle. The video went viral and has 1.6 million views.
They sold out several shows in 2023 after booking into the Balor Arts Centre in Ballybofey.
The full frame 4k edit of ’Only Our Rivers Run Free’ - that great song penned by Mickey MacConnell - will be released on Thursday on the Onóir YouTube channel.
