Cyclist left injured after hit-and-run incident

Lifford Gardaí are investigating a road traffic collision that happened at Ballyholey, Raphoe, on Sunday at around 11:10am.

A cyclist was knocked off his bike by a car at that location. It is believed that the car in question may have been a Silver Peugeot 308 with a possible partial registration of ‘221’.

The passenger wing mirror of the car was knocked off as a result of the collision. The car in question left the scene. The cyclist and the motorist were both travelling in the Lifford direction from the Manor roundabout at the time of the collision. The cyclist was injured but his injuries are not life threatening in nature.

"We appeal to anybody who travelled on that stretch of road (Road between Manor roundabout and Lifford) on the morning of Sunday the 26th between 11am and 11.20am and who had a dash cam, to make the footage available to Gardaí," Lifford Gardaí said. "If anybody witnessed the collision or if they have any relevant information we ask them to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100."
