BBC journalist opts for Raphoe as Ireland's most picturesque hockey venue

BBC Northern Ireland journalist Mark Simpson has taken to Twitter to share what he believes is Ireland's most picturesque hockey venue and he goes for the Royal & Prior, where Raphoe Hockey Club play their home fixtures

When he's not behind the mic, BBC Northern Ireland journalist Mark Simpson likes to take in the occasional game of hockey.

Simpson is a fan of both ice-hockey and the field game and on Twitter this week has been running the rule over some of his favourite venues to watch the sports at. 

"Surely the most picturesque venue in Ireland for hockey - Raphoe, County Donegal," was what he decided. 

Raphoe carry the destinction of being Donegal's only senior club and play their home fixtures at the Royal & Prior sports grounds.
