Gardaí are investigating the theft of a car from McNeely Villas, Letterkenny on Tuesday, May 2, at approximately 11pm. The car in question was a white ‘Nissan March’ registration ‘131 D 40249’.

It is believed to have been stolen by a group of two to three people. Shortly after 4.30am on Wednesday, May 3, the above named stolen car was involved in an incident at the Diamond in Raphoe Town when it was deliberately driven into the payment kiosk at the petrol pumps. The kiosk was knocked out of the ground and substantial damage was caused to it. Two money boxes were stolen from the kiosk, neither of which contained any money. 

The stolen car was located later on that morning  at Ballymacool, Letterkenny at 6am and it had been set on fire. 

"We appeal to anybody who may have been in any of the above named areas in or around the times in question and who had a dash cam to make the footage available to Gardaí," An Garda Siochana said. "If anybody observed the car in question out and about on the roads between Letterkenny and Raphoe between 11pm on Tuesday, May 2, and 6am on Wednesday the 3rd of May and can offer a description of the occupants then we ask them to contact Gardaí also. Anybody who has any relevant information is asked to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100 or the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111.
