Gardaí are investigating a recent incident of criminal damage that occurred at the Presbyterian Church on the Letterkenny Road in Convoy.

Damage was caused to the roof of a portacabin to the rear of the Church between midday on Saturday, May 20, and 9am on Monday, 22. It would appear that the roof may have been jumped on a number of times causing it to collapse in parts.

“We are anxious to further this investigation due to the criminal aspect of it but also in relation to the safety aspect,” a Garda spokesperson said. “Behaviour such as this is criminal in nature but it is also highly dangerous. We appeal to anybody who may have observed any suspicious activity around the Church grounds over the weekend to make contact with us in Letterkenny on 074-9167100.”
