Plans are advancing for the development of a new Men's Shed in Manorcunningham.
A premises has been secured in the village and a committee was formed recently.
The Manor Men's Shed group have affiliated to the Irish Men's Shed Association recently.
The group now plans to have an open meeting with interested men from the area.
They are seeking suitable donations for inside their new premises. Anyone who is interested or wants to know more details is asked to contact John Crawford on 086-8245899.
There are now over 450 men's sheds in Ireland with an estimated 10,000 visiting them each week.
Most sheds engage in activities such as woodwork, gardening, carpentry and community work.
The Irish Men's Shed Association says: “Men’s sheds are more than just woodwork or gardening, they are places where men can find meaning and purpose, where a friend is always there.
“In a men’s shed we always say the greatest tool we have is the kettle, because there’s nothing more powerful than a cup of tea and a chat.”
