Gillian McGough, a Letterkenny native, has recently received a prestigious prize from the Law Society of Ireland for outstanding academic achievement having achieved the highest mark in the Succession Trusts and Estate Planning (STEP) Diploma.
The diploma addresses the establishment of wills, the management of trusts, the related tax ramifications and comprehensive estate planning for clients. The Law Society of Ireland and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners collaborated to offer the STEP Diploma.
Ms McGough is a solicitor at McElhinney and Associates, a law firm based in Stranorlar that specialises in medical negligence, personal injury, property, estate planning and probate.

Ms McGough completed a Bachelor of Legal Studies with Taxation at ATU Letterkenny and after that spent several years working in the HSE Litigation Department. Gillian specialises in the areas of litigation, conveyancing, probate, medical negligence litigation and personal injury actions.
