There is a fundraising initiative taking place to help a family in Newtowncunningham who saw their home extensively damaged by lightning and fire last week.
The Nesbitt family home was one of three damaged by fire after the lightning strikes on Monday afternoon. Emergency services attended the fires at the house, located close to Inisleigh Co-op.
"I am fundraising for the Nesbitt Family - Keith, Debbie, Scott, Zach and Issy," reads the GoFundMe post from Jill Williams, Debbie's sister.

"On Monday 22nd January 2024 their house was struck by lightning and went on fire. Their beautiful family home was devastated by Fire and Water damage. They have lost most of their possessions. We want to help them get back into their home."
