Historical Society to delve into the history of Finn Harps

Finn Harps were founded in 1954 and entered the League of Ireland in 1969

The history of Finn Harps FC will form a central part of the next meeting of the Ballybofey, Stranorlar & District Historical Society.

The Navenny Street club were founded in 1954 and entered the League of Ireland 15 years later, with their standout memory being the FAI Cup success in April 1974.

The next meeting of the society will take place at Henderson Hall (F93 XV29) Stranorlar on Monday, March 25, at 7pm.

There will be a talk for members and the general public at 8pm on the History of Finn Harps. This month's special guest speaker is Finn Harps Historian and statistician Joe Doherty. Joe will cover Harps from their foundation to the present day.

This talk is free of charge and everyone is welcome to attend. Membership of this group is rising all the time, so if you are interested in local history you are encouraged to join the society. Meetings and talks take place on the fourth Monday of every month at Henderson Hall.
