The Tirconnaill Commemoration Committee commemorated the 102nd anniversary of the execution of four republicans in Drumboe Woods by Free State forces.
As part of their ongoing series of successful events marking the 100th anniversary, the committee launched a book chronicling the annual commemorations held for the Drumboe Martyrs from 1923 to 2023.
It recalls events leading up to the execution of Charlie Daly, Sean Larkin, Daniel Enright and Timothy O'Sullivan - who would come to be collectively known as The Drumboe Martyrs - in March 1923.

The book launch took place in the Drumboe Suite at Jackson's Hotel, Ballybofey, and was officiated by Martin Ferris, former Sinn Féin TD and Political Prisoner.
The book is a compilation of commemorations throughout the years, featuring photographs, short historical essays, details on the construction of the Drumboe monuments, and excerpts from notable speeches.
Mr Ferris brought a unique perspective to the launch as a Kerry Republican, given that three of the Drumboe martyrs were also from Kerry. He spoke of his connection to the families of the executed men, particularly Charlie Daly's sister Mai, and her lifelong activism and republicanism. Mr Ferris also shared his own experiences as a political prisoner and his activism throughout the years.
The launch was well-attended by local councillors, TDs, and members of the community. Cllr Dakota Nic Mheanman expertly chaired the event, extending thanks to the organizing committee and Martin Ferris for their contributions.
